Manasi Pradhan was the first girl in her village in Odisha to graduate from a college and become a lawyer, even though she faced strong pressures from society as girls were not allowed to study. She worked as she studied to support her family. At the age of 21, she started her own printing press and published a literary journal.

Soon she realized that she wanted to help girls who faced similar struggles as she had faced. So, she gave up her successful Press and founded several organizations & initiatives like 'OYSS Women' and 'Honor of Women National Campaign' with the focus of educating girls and creating awareness for women empowerment.

For almost 40 years, she has continued to work tirelessly for the betterment of women - not just in her State, but other States and across India, influencing State and National policies as well. In an interview she  said,  'I  didn't  start  doing  this  work  to  get  awards,  but  to  get  recognized  that  yes,  I  am  doing something impactful. It gives you mental satisfaction; it inspires you to work even more.'

માનસી પ્રધાન ઓવિશાના પોતાના ગામની પહેલી છોકરી હતી જે કોલેજમાાંથી સ્નાતક (ગ્રેજ્ય એટ) થઈને િકીલ બની હતી. તેમને સમાજ તરફથી સખત દબાણનો સામનો કરિો પિતો હતો , કારણ કે છોકરીઓને ભણિાની માંજૂરી નહોતી. તેમણે અભ્યાસ કરતી િખતે , પોતાના પવરિારન ાં ગ જરાન ચલાિિા માટે કામ કય ું. 21 િર્કની ઉ ાં મરે , તેમને પોતાન ાં વપ્રવન્ટાંગ પ્રેસ શરૂ કય ું અને એક સાવહવત્યક જનકલ પ્રકાવશત કરી.

ટૂાં ક સમયમાાં તેમને સમજાય ાં કે , તે એિી છોકરીઓને મદદ કરિા માાંગે છે જેમણે તેમના જેિા જ સાંઘર્ોનો સામનો કયો હતો. તેથી , તેઓએ  પોતાન ાં સફળ પ્રેસ છોિી દીધ ાં અને ' OYSS મવહલા' અને 'સ્ત્રીઓન ાં સન્માન રાષ્ટ્ ર ીય અવભયાન' જેિી અનેક સાંસ્થાઓ અને પહેલોની સ્થાપના કરી. આ સાંસ્થાનોમાાં છોકરીઓને વશવિત કરિા અને મવહલા સશવિકરણ માટે જાગૃવત લાિિાનો સમાિેશ થાય છે.

લગભગ 40 િર્કથી , તેઓએ માત્ર તેમના રાજ્યમાાં જ નહીાં , પરાંત  અન્ય રાજ્યોમાાં અને સમગ્ર ભારતમાાં મવહલાઓના કલ્યાણ માટે અથાક મહેનત કરિાન ાં ચાલ  રાખય ાં છે , જે રાજ્ય અને રાષ્ટ્ ર ીય નીવતઓને પણ પ્રભાવિત કરે છે. એક મ લાકાતમાાં તેમને કહ્ ાં , 'મેં આ કામ પ રસ્કારો મેળિિા માટે શરૂ કય ું ન હત ાં , પરાંત  હા , મેં તે માન્યતા મેળિિા માટે કય ું કે હ  ાં કાંઈક પ્રભાિશાળી કરી રહી છ  ાં . તે તમને માનવસક સાંતોર્ આપે છે ; તે તમને િધ  મહેનત કરિા માટે પ્રેવરત કરે છે.'
